What makes OSH Assembly different?

Qualities that set us apart from traditional contract manufacturers
Save time
Skip generating gerbers, pick-and-place position files, and bill of materials (BOM) files. Your PCB file is all that's needed!
Save money
We charge roughly 85% less than what traditional CMs charge. Since we've automated quoting, we don't need to hire sales staff, meaning we save money and pass those savings directly on to you. And, because quoting is automated, you'll always be quoted the same rate as our other users.
Instant quote, no account needed
Inspired by OSH Park, this standout feature lets us easily be transparent about pricing while letting you stay fully anonymous right until the moment you place your order.
Free standard shipping, both ways
Free shipping when you send us your kit. Free shipping when we send you your assembled boards. Anywhere in the US. If you need expedited shipping, you can choose to pay extra for that, but standard shipping will always be free!
Assembled by passonate experts in the USA
All jobs are carried out by our small, passionate team of experts. As past members of a reputable CM, we each have several years of experience in the field, ISO 9001 auditor training, and experience working up to the IPC Class III standard. Although we technically could classify ourselves as soldering experts, we prefer to be considered "extreme hobbyists". Despite our expert status, many of us continue to solder even at home. We build awesome projects and consider ourselves "Makers" too. We're great at building beautiful, working assemblies. We're proud of what we do, and none of our work is ever outsourced to other countries or companies.
Powerful options
Specify custom assembly options while you design. We offer choices simply not provided by other manufacturing services, like rounded joints. If you ever have your boards assembled elsewhere, other assemblers will simply ignore these options.

Assembly made easy

Traditional contract manufacturers require you to export a collection of drawings, BOMs, and gerber files, compress/archive them, and email them. Waiting for a quote takes time. Small runs aren't as profitable to them, so they likely won't prioritize your order. If/when you finally do get a quote back, it's often insanely high! With OSH Assembly, just upload a single file. KiCAD's PCB file provides even more info about your board that helps during the assembly process.
  • Stackup - We use your stackup info (copper layer thickness) to automatically generate a reflow profile perfectly tailered to your board. Other assemblers mainly rely on guess-and-check methods, which leads to inconsistency in your batch of boards.
  • Powerful options - Specify custom assembly options while you design. We offer choices simply not provided by other manufacturing services, like rounded joints. If you ever have your boards assembled elsewhere, other assemblers will simply ignore these options.
  • Save yourself time - Skip generating gerbers, pick-and-place position files, and bill of materials (BOM) files. Your PCB file is all that's needed!

Use parts you already have

You know the requirements for your parts better than anyone else. Stuck using a specific vendor? Searching for the cheapest parts on Aliexpress? Inherited grandpa's retro collection of segmented displays? Wherever your parts come from, we know you've chosen them for good reasons. Pack them in your kit and we'll use exactly what you send us!
  • We don't store components, so rest assured that the parts you send us are the parts we use during your assembly. We encourage you to review and validate any parts you order. You know your parts better than anyone! You can get cheaper parts than we can. You probably already have them, too. Just pack and ship!
  • Unused parts will be returned when your order is delivered. While we may lose a few of your smaller parts (even pick and place machines aren't perfect!), we absolutely will never intentionally keep or sell any components from your kit.
  • When beginning a project, order extra parts and keep your parts organized. We make the assumption that all THT parts are heat-sensitive, and all SMT parts can survive pb-free reflow temps. If this is not the case, make sure to let us know before we begin your assembly!
